Thermic Start Taq PCR Kit™

This product is derived from CapeSprint Taq DNA Polymerase™ which is a thermostable DNA polymerase from the thermophilic bacterium, Thermus aquaticus. The enzyme catalyses 5’→3’ synthesis of DNA, normally has no recorded 3’→5’ exonuclease (proofreading) activity. Its counterparts in the market are called “Hot Start” polymerases. The nature of the enzyme ensures specific binding of primers to targeted gene sequences and eliminates nonspecific binding that often occurs during PCR.

Due to the thermal activation nature of the enzyme, reactions can be prepared at room temperature (25-30OC), with maximum temperature assayed at 37o C. The enzyme does not require any additional activation step as activation of the enzyme will occur during the initial denaturing phase of the PCR. It is recommended that the Thermic Start Taq DNA Polymerase™ be used at a concentration of 2 Units for optimal results. Template DNA requires optimization but it is recommended not to exceed 10 ng.

Product shipment and recommended storage conditions:

Complete kits and/or individual kit components are shipped in unique CapeBio freezer-safe storage boxes that are placed on dry ice for 2-5 days (international shipments) or on ice packs for 1-2 days (local shipments). Upon arrival of our products to your facility, we advise you to make aliquots & store at -20°C. Once thawed, the Ligation buffer can be stored at 4°C.
