About the company
CapeBio™ Technologies Pty Ltd (Capebio™) is South Africa’s leading biotechnology company. The company has a proprietary large-scale biomanufacturing process for reagent enzymes used in molecular research and in vitro Diagnostics (IVD). These include PCR, cloning, genome editing, cDNA synthesis and other DNA, RNA and protein manipulating enzymes.
The company was the first local manufacturer of COVID-19 PCR tests to get South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) approval for its in vitro diagnostic medical device. Beyond our proprietary biomanufacturing techniques we have also developed a proprietary biodiscovery Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform for enzymes, therapeutic peptides, and therapeutic-relevant Biosynthetic Gene Clusters (BGCs) amongst other molecules. These capabilities have made Capebio™ an African pioneer in biological molecules discovery, molecular enzyme development and biomanufacturing.
The company has a strong track record in commercializing its best-in-class reagent enzymes in South Africa, Africa, the United States of America, Canada and India.
